Description of key information

1,3-di-o-tolylguanidine is not considered readily biodegradable.

1% biodegradation after 28 days.

Study performed in accordance with:
- OECD testing guideline 301 and
- GLP requirements

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of 1,3-di-o-tolylguanidine was evaluated in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 301 C and GLP requirements.

The maximum level of biodegradation was 1% in 28 days. Therefore, according to these results, 1,3-di-o-tolylguanidine is not considered readily biodegradable.

In accordance with ECHA's guidance R.11, the biodegradation in water, soil and/or sediments study do not need to be conducted as the PBT/vPvB assessment is complete (1,3-di-o-tolylguanidine is not B based on a low n-octenol water partition coefficient).
