Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Handling and storage
Reactor/mixer includes mechanical seals and packing to assure good sealing.
Pumps include mechanical seal to avoid leakage.
Manufacturing process is automated and controlled by a distributed control system (DCS).
Maintenance and plant production staffs are in charge of close system supervision.
The intermediate is pumped trough manufacturing process and to storage tanks using heat-insulated pipes. Storage tanks (one of 90 m3 and another of 55 m3) are heat-insulated too. Used pumps have pressure-relief valves or safety-relief valves. Storage tank venting is driven to an acid gases washing tower. Off-site transport is not intended.

Exposure controls / personal protection
maintenance and cleanning of facilities:
Before maintenance or repair operations, the involved part of the system must be cleaned following the internal procedure (CA-I-58-A). It basically consists in:
-System is loaded with a neutral solvent (mineral oil) containing a 5-10% of concentrated sulphuric acid. Recirculate for 30 minutes.
-System is emptied and the washing mixture is recycled into the production process through a closed pipes system.
-System is loaded and recirculated for one hour with a neutral solvent (mineral oil).
-System is emptied and the washing mixture is recycled into the production process through a closed pipes system.
-If there is any residue, repeat cleaning operation.
-After all residues have been removed, maintenance staff may work using the following appropriate protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: Mask with filter type 92 E1
Eye protection: EN166:2001
Hand protection: PVC gloves (EN 388).
Protective clothing: Category III.
Method and equipment used for sampling the intermediate during manufacturing:
There is an internal procedure (CA-I-59-A) for sampling. Only trained staff with appropriate protective equipment takes samples of the on-site isolated intermediate. After the samples are analysed by the Laboratory, samples are recovered into the production process (emission reduction). Control sampling points and analyses frequency are:
-Storage tank (analytical control 15 times per month)
Personnel exposure:
No exposure, manufacture takes place in a closed system of vessels and pipes.
