Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

pKa = 10.7 at 25 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The REAXYS handbook reports 3 independent entries for the dissociation constant. Broderius et a. 1995 report the dissociation constant to be pKa = 10.70 at 25 °C. Vazquez et al. report the dissociation constant to be pKa = 10.62 at 25 °C and Frenna et al. 1985 report the dissociation constant to be pKa = 10.85. All three reported values are in the same range and therefore regarded as reliable. The dissociation constant of pKa = 10.7 at 25 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment as it was from the most recent publication.
