Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

An OECD TG 203 study in compliance with GLP criteria on zebra fish (Danio rerio) is available for the substance. The stock solutions were prepared with DMF and DMF concentrations were 0.1 mg/l. Fish (10/concentration) were exposed to nominal concentrations of 0 (negative control), 0 (solvent control), 0.40, 0.52, 0.66, 0.85 and 1.10 mg/L under semi-static conditions (media renewed every 24 hours) for 96 hours. The test concentrations were analytically verified and determined as ND (negative control), ND (solvent control), 0.41, 0.45, 0.63, 0.76 and 0.95 mg/L (85.8 - 101% of nominal concentrations). Test conditions were maintained constant throughout the study. The dissolved oxygen concentration has been at least 60% of the air saturation value throughout the test. After 96 hours exposure, all fish survived in the control and 0.40 mg/L treatment groups. 20% and 70% mortality was observed in 0.52 and 0.66 mg/L treatments, respectively. At higher concentrations, mortality was 100%. Sublethal effects were also noted and consisted of one or more of the following: erratic swimming, discolouration, lethargy. Since measured concentrations remained within 20% of the nominal concentrations, results were based on the nominal concentrations. Based on these findings, the 96-hour LC50 was determined to be 0.55 mg/L (95% C.L. is 0.50 to 0.61 mg/L).
