Data on in vitro genotoxicity of other poorly soluble and insoluble Chromium(III) compounds are reviewed, including Chromium(III) oxide (Cr2O3), chromite ore (Cr2O3· Fe2O3· Al2O3) and cupric chromite (Cr2O3· 2CuO). These compounds were genotoxic only, when contaminated with Cr(VI).

Water-insoluble chromium(III) compounds were studied. In a single study with Chromium(III) hydroxide by Yagi & Nishioka (1977) in E. coli no DNA damage was seen.
