Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observations for at least 48 hours after the accident.
After inhalation:
Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor.
In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.
After skin contact:
Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
After eye contact:
Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
After swallowing:
Immediately call a doctor.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents:
CO2, extinguishing powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistent foam.
Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases:
Can form explosive gas-air mixtures.
In case of fire the following can be released: Carbon monoxide (CO)
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Accidental release measures
Person related safety precautions:
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
Measures for environmental protection:
Do not allow to enter sewers / surface or ground water.
Measures for cleaning / collecting:
Absorb with liquid binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust)
Dispose contaminated material as waste.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Additional information:
Dispose into waste water channels and biological treatment plants only after clearance with the operating company and in accordance with local authority approval.
Handling and storage
Information for safe handling:
Keep containers tightly sealed.
All apparatus must be grounded.
Use additional container if material is transported in glass bottles.
Use only non sparking metal tools.
Empty containers must not be used for other products.
Contaminated protective equipment should be cleaned before taking it off.
Take care with emptied containers - explosion possible with ignition.
Fill only in dedicated and assigned containers.
Information about protection against explosions and fires:
Use explosion-proof apparatus / fittings and spark-proof tools.
Fumes can combine with air to form an explosive mixture.
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:
Store in a cool location.
Corrosion of metals:
It should generally be borne in mind that there is a possibility of corrosion on contact with this material. Resistance should be checked in each individual case.
Information about storage in one common storage facility:
Store away from oxidizing agents.
Further information about storage conditions:
Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Additional information about design of technical systems:
Devices and vessels must be inerted before starting operation.
Do not use pressurized air for delivering.
Check seals on flanges and valves for suitability and corrosion resistance.
If necessary inspection intervals should be defined.
General protective and hygenic measures:
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.
Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.
Breathing equipment:
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device.
In case of intensive or longer exposure use respiratory protective device that is independent of circulating air.
Protection of hands:
Protective gloves. Selection of the glove material on the consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.
Eye protection:
Safety glasses.
Body protection:
Protective work clozhing.
Limitation and supervision of exposure into the environment:
Avoid spillage of product into the environment.
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:
No decomposition if used according to specifications.
Materials to be avoided:
Strongly oxidizing agents.
Acids and bases.
Dangerous reactions:
Exothermic polymerisation
Dangerous products of decomposition:
Carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2)
Disposal considerations
Recommondation:
Must be specially treated adhering to official regulations.
European waste catalogue:
07 07 99 - wastes not otherwise specified
Uncleaned packagings:
Packagings that cannot be cleaned are to be disposed off in the same manner as the product.
Dispose of container and unused contents in accordance with federal, state and local requirements.
