First-aid measures

After inhalation:

Supply fresh air. If symptoms are experienced, get medical attention.

In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

After skin contact:

Immediately rinse with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation or skin rash occurs. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse.

After eye contact:

Immediately rinse with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of cool low-pressure water for several minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists.

After ingestion:

Do NOT induce vomiting. If person is conscious, rinse out mouth with water. Immediately call a doctor/physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Flammability of the product:

Flammable liquid.

Suitable extinguishing agents:

CO2, foam, powder.

Unsuitable extinguishing agents:

Water with jet.

Hazardous thermal decomposition products:

Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, acrid fumes.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:

Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Person-related safety precautions:

Wear personal protective equipment. Evacuate unprotected persons to safe areas. Provide adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition.

Measures for environmental protection:

Do not allow product to reach soil, waterways, drains and sewers. Inform the relevant authorities if the product has caused environmental pollution (soil, waterways, drains or sewers).

Measures for cleaning/collecting:

- Small spills : Absorb spilled liquid with inert absorbent. Collect and seal in an appropriate container properly labelled for disposal.

- Large spills : Stop spill if it can be done without danger. Dike. Pump as much liquid as possible with an explosion-proof pump or a hand pump. Absorb the remaining liquid with inert absorbent. Collect and seal in an appropriate container properly labelled for disposal. Use only non-sparking tools.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Wear personal protective equipment. Provide adequate ventilation. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Use only non-sparking tools. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces.

Storage:

Requirements for storage areas and containers :

Store in a cool well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. All equipments including ventilation systems must be equipotential and earthed. Keep away from sources of ignition. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.

Recommended and Unsuitable Materials for Storage :

- Stainless steel, aluminium

- Certain plastics and elastomers may not be compatible with the product. Test or get manufacturers recommendation prior to use.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures:

Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation to minimize exposure to vapours. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

General protective and hygienic measures:

The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.

Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Respiratory protection:

Use suitable respiratory protective device in case of insufficient ventilation.

Hand protection:

Protective gloves resistant to chemicals (standard EN 374-1).

Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses (standard EN 166).

Body protection:

Protective work clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability :

No decomposition if used according to specifications.

Conditions to avoid :

Prolonged or excessive heat and/or exposure to air may cause non-hazardous decomposition and/or oxidation of the substance.

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Materials to avoid :

Avoid contact with strong acids and strong oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Product:

After prior treatment product may be disposed of in an incinerator for special waste adhering to the regulations pertaining to the disposal of special waste. Disposal must be made according to local and national regulations.

Uncleaned packaging:

Disposal must be made according to local and national regulations.
