Administrative data
First-aid measures
EYES Contact : Immediatly flush with copuis amounts of water for a least of 15 minutes. if redness, itching or a burning sensation developed, have eyes examined and treated by medical personnel.
INGESTION: If swallowed, dilute with water. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Never give fluids or induce vomiting if the victim is unconscious or having convulsions. (never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.) Get immediate medical attention
INHALATION: Remove victim to fresh air. If cough or other respiratory symptoms developed, consult medical personnel. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen, and then consult medical personnel.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA : Water fog, foam, carbon, dioxyde, drychemicals. All extinguishing materials are suitable. Fire-men have to wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
FIRE FIGHTING : Move container from fire area if it can be done without risk. Do not scatter spilied material with high-pressure water streams. Dike for later disposal. Use extinguishing agents appropriate for surrounding fire. Avoid inhalation of material or combustion by products. Stay upwind and keep out of low areas.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT : During emergency conditions, overexposure to thermal decomposition products may cause health hazard. Self contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes should be worn.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION : formation of phenol, phenol derivatives, in case of fire or during thermal decomposition. Dust, like most organic materials in powder form, may form explosive mixture with air.
DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Thermal decomposition may produce phenols, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Accidental release measures
PRECAUTIONS IN CASE OF SPILLAGE OR LEAKAGE: Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pick up is complete. Wear respirator, chemical safety goggles, impervious boots and chemical resistant gloves. Sweep up, place in a bag and hold for waste disposal. Avoid raising dust and eliminate all ignition sources.
Handling and storage
STORAGE : Store in a cool, dark and dry place. Store in closed containers away from moisture and dusting. Keep separated from incompatible substances. After opening, use as soon as possible.
INCOMPATIBILITY: Bases, reducing agents and oxidizing agents. Strong acids, acid chlorides, acid anydrides

Exposure controls / personal protection
NUISANCE DUST :
Respirable dust fraction : 5mg/cm3
Total dust : 15mg/cm3
Inhalable particulate : 10mg/cm3
Respirable particulate : 3mg/cm3
Inhalable dust fraction : 4mg/cm3
Respirable dust fraction : 1.5mg/cm3
VENTILATION : provide local exhaust entilation system. Centilation equipement should be explosion resistant if explosive concentrations of material are present. Ensure compliance with applicable exposure limits.
PROTECTIVE MEASURE : Respirator with APF=10 sould be worn. Chemical resistant gloves should be put on. Safety glasses or splash resistant safety goggles with a face shield should be worn in any type of industrial operation. Provide an emergency eye wash fountain and quick drench shower in the immediate work aera. Mechanical exhaust required.
TECHNICAL PROTECTIVE MEASURES : Safety shower and eye bath. Mechanical exhaust required.
Keep away from foodstuffs, drinks and tabacco. Wash hands before breaks and at end of work.
Keep worfking clothes separate. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
Avoid inhaling dust. After contact with skin, wash immediatlely with plenty of water ad soap.
RESPIRATOR: Under conditions of frequent use or heavy exposure, repiratory protection may be needed. Respiratory protection is ranked in order from minimum to maximum. Consider warning properties before use. Any air purifying respirator with a full facepiece and a high efficiency particulate filter.Any powered, air purifying respirator with a tight fitting facepiece and high efficiency particulate filter.
For unknown concentrations or immeditely Dangerous to life of health, any supplied air respirator with full facepiece and operated in a pressure demand ot other positive pressure mode in combination with a separate escape supply. Any self contained breathing apparatus with a full facepiece.
Stability and reactivity
OTHER CONDITION : Product dusts may be explosive under certain conditions
CONDITIONS TO AVOID : Avoid heat, flames, sparks and other sources of ignition. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with incompatible materials
INCOMPATIBILITY: Bases, reducing agents and oxidizing agents. Strong acids, acid chlorides, acid anydrides
POLYMERIZATION: Will not polymerize under normal condition.
Disposal considerations
CONTAINER DISPOSAL : Empty containers retain product residue. Observe all hazard precautions. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Do not distribute, make available, or reuse empty containers except for storage and shipment of orginal product. Remove all hazardous product residue, and puncture or otherwise destroy empty containers before disposal.
