Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information
No data for Fatty acids, dehydrated castor-oil (CAS 61789 -45 -5) are available on long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates.
However, Fatty acids (C10 – C22) are essential for aquatic organisms. They are readily biodegradable and are poorly water soluble, which qualifies these substances as difficult to test according to OECD 23. Due to substance properties, a reasonable dose-response curve cannot be established. Following the standard test of OECD 211 instable test substance concentrations are recognized only after the test has been finalized. The OECD protocol foresees the TWA (time weighted average) approach in cases where test concentrations are instable. These TWA results have to be considered “artefacts” because favourable substance properties like “rapid biodegradation”, “effective metabolism e.g. in algae”, “rapid decay in water, sediment, soil” lead to very low TWA values. These TWA values are found to be below 1 mg/L. Despite low TWA values no C&L = “N” is assigned. This would obviously contradict the fact that these substances are not posing a danger to aquatic organisms.
