Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties of registered substance were determined from experimental testing, except Vapour pressure, Partition coefficient and Water solubility that were derived from QSAR data on constituents in a constituents approach. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of known constituents and/or experience in handling, testing and use of the substance.

It is expected to float over water, because of its low relative density (0.8818). The substance contains constituents having different water solubilities and volatilities.

The substance is classified as combustible liquid, Category 4  according to UN Globally Harmonized System (GHS criteria)

Otherwise, no other hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties, self-heating substance) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).

Additional information

The substance is a clear, yellow-orange liquid.

The melting point is < -20 degrees Celsius. The initial boiling point is stated between 218.22°C and 219.83°C at an atmospheric pressure between 1001,2 and 1001,4 mbar.

The relative density (d20/4) was determined to be 0,8818 (Less dense than water).

The vapour pressure, the partition coefficient and the water solubility of each test item constituent were determined using a validated QSAR model covering 82,25%w/w of the composition.

The vapour pressure of the constituents was determined between 1,01 and 47,4 Pa at 25°C.

The log Kow for the constituents ranged from 2,5 -6.9, including 51.2% of the constituents with a log Kow >3.

The water solubility for the constituents ranged from 0.000886 - 633 mg test item/L.

Surface activity was waived based on chemical structure of the known constituents of the substance, not characteristic of true surfactants and considering that it is not a desired property of the substance.

The flashpoint was determined to be 90.5 °C. The substance is not classified according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP criteria) and it is classified as combustible liquid Category 4 according to UN Globally Harmonized System (GHS criteria).

The self-ignition temperature was determined to be 230 °C (993,5 - 1003,3 mbar)

Low potential for explosive and oxidising properties were anticipated based on the chemical structure of constituents of the substance and experience in handling, testing and use of the substance.

Flammable if contact with air or water is not anticipated based on experience in handling and use and chemical structure of known constituents of the substance and self-heating is not anticipated due to the physical state (liquid) of the substance

A statement on the use of the protocol for Registration of Natural Complex Substance (NCS) under REACH has been attached to the dossier.
