Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
2 min
Remarks on result:
other: Substance did not burn with a flame or smolder along a 200 mm powder train within 4 minutes of the application of a flame, and therefore was not considered highly flammable.
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Substance is not considered highly flammable
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the flammability of the test substance as per the guideline EU method A.10.

The test substance was molded into an unbroken strip 250 mm long by 20 mm wide by 10 mm high on an aluminum base plate. The length of the test substance strip was arranged perpendicular to the draft in a fume hood to prevent the draft from propagating any smoldering or burning that may have resulted. A propane torch flame was applied for 2 minutes to one end of the test substance. After 2 minutes, the flame was removed and the test substance was observed for an additional 2 minutes.

The test substance did not burn with a flame or smolder along a 200 mm powder train within 4 minutes of the application of a flame, and therefore was not considered highly flammable.

Description of key information

EU Method A.10

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The test substance did not burn with a flame or smolder along a 200 mm powder train within 4 minutes of the application of a flame, and therefore was not considered highly flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Substance was not flammable in a test according to EU Method A.10; therefore, no classification is required according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
