Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
2 min
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

Safety Pre-Test

The test item glowed with sparking leaving a black residue.

Preliminary Screening Test

At the position which came in contact with the flame, the test item burned with a yellow- orange flame and sparking. After 2 minutes the black residue glowed further for a while and slightly bloated but no signs of flammability were observed.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

No ignition was observed within two minutes.

The test item AF-378 should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and as non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), respectively.

No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.
