Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Treat as for drowning, clear airways and resucitate if
required. Seek medical attention if necessary.
In all cases, remove contaminated clothing.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse gently with saline solution or clean water for at
least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if there is
evidence of irritation or thermal burns.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water, If the liquid was hot, flush with
iced water, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Seek medical attention if feeling
unwell or if large quantities have been consumed.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing agents are water, foam, carbon
dioxide and dry powder.
Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain hydrogen fluoride gas and
other toxic fluorine gases.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn. Spray
cans with water to keep cool.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Contain spillage, prevent from entering drains or water
courses. Soak up with sawdust or vermiculite and place in a
suitable containers for disposal by incineration. Where
possible, recover the liquid for reclamation by the
supplier. The spilt substance produces a very slippery
surface which may be hazardous to personnel, take suitable
precautions.
Handling and storage
Handling: No special handling requirements for the substance at room
temperature. Avoid spillage as the substance produces a very
slippery surface. When handling the hot liquid, heat
resistant gloves or gauntlets should be worn.
Storage: No special precautions. Avoid mechanical damage of
containers.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be stored in 10 kg aluminium cans.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Spent or contaminated substance may be returned to the
notifier for reclamation by distillation. (A614)
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance is very inert chemically and has no known
hazardous effects; neutralisation is not applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of destruction. An approved facility that
can incinerate fluorinated hydrocarbons should be used.
Waste gas treatment to remove hydrogen fluoride should be
used. (A661)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
