Description of key information
2-Propenoic acid, methyl ester, reaction products with 2-ethyl-1-hexanamine and sodium hydroxide (methanol free) has been tested for toxicity to fish (Cyprinus carpio: 96h-LC50 = 42 mg/L), daphnids (Daphnia magna: 48h-EC50 > 100 mg/L) and algae (Raphidocelis subcapitata: 72-ErC50 = 1.9 mg/L / 72h-ErC10 = 0.43 mg/L). The substance has not been tested itself for its toxicity to aquatic microorganisms but data are actually available on a structural analogue (Sodium N-(2-carboxyethyl)-N-(2-ethylhexyl)-β-alaninate / activated sudge: 3h-EC50 > 246.5 mg/L). For this endpoint, a read-across approach was used to fill the datagap.
