The concentration of test substance in the test solutions was measured at the start and end of the test using the method. At the start of the test the remaining excess of the test solutions was sampled and analysed. At the end of the test each of the replicates of the test solutions were sampled and analysed.

A nominal 180 mg/L solution of the test substance was prepared by dissolving 0.1806 g of test substance in 1 L of dilution medium. The resultant solution was clear and bright orange in color.

The following nominal exposure concentrations were employed:

The mean measured concentration of test substance was 106% of the nominal value of 180 mg/L.
Details on test conditions:
Borosilicate glass beakers of 250 mL capacity were used as test vessels, with four replicates per exposure concentration. Each vessel contained 200 mL of test solution providing a depth of approximately 60 mm. The beakers were covered with loose fitting lids. The test was initiated by adding five Daphnia to each vessel, in <2 mL of dilution water, giving a total of 20 Daphnia per concentration. The test solution temperature was maintained at 20 ± 1°C by control of the room temperature and a photoperiod of 16 hours light and 8 hours dark, with 15 minute transition periods, was provided. The test solutions were not aerated.
