Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Duration:

- Dose descriptor:

- Effect conc.:
- 100 mg/L
- Details on results:
- The 48-Hour EL*50 for the test material to Daphnia magna based on nominal loading
rates was greater than 100 mg/l loading rate WAF and correspondingly the No Observed Effect
Loading rate was 100 mg/l loading rate WAF.
It was considered unnecessary and unrealistic to test at loading rates in excess of 100 mg/l.
Samples of the control and 100 mg/l loading rate WAF were taken at 0 (fresh media) and 48 hours
(old media) for Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis. Analysis of the test preparations at 0 hours
showed measured test concentrations to be 10.8 (Replicates R1-R2 pooled) and 10.2 mg/l
(Replicates R3-R4 pooled). After 48 hours, analysis showed measured test concentrations to be
9.7 (Replicates R1-R2 pooled) and 9.4 mg carbon/l (Replicates R3-R4 pooled). No significant
decline in TOC was observed over the duration of the test.
As the test material is a complex mixture, the toxicity cannot be attributed to one or any of the
components in the test material but to the test material as a whole. Therefore the results were
based on nominal loading rates only. - Results with reference substance (positive control):
- The 48-Hour EC50 for the reference material to Daphnia magna based on nominal concentrations
was 0.85 mg/l with 95% confidence limits of 0.76 - 0.96 mg/l. The No Observed Effect
Concentration was 0.56 mg/l.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The 48-Hour EL*50 for the test material to Daphnia magna based on nominal loading rates was greater than 100 mg/l loading rate WAF and correspondingly the No Observed Effect Loading rate was 100 mg/l loading rate WAF.
