First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Call a doctor (physician), clinic or hospital immediately.
Explain that the victim has been exposed to a pyrethroid
insecticide, and describe his/her condition. Immediately
move the exposed person from the area where the product is
present. People who come to rescue the victim should apply
all required safety measures.
If breathing has stopped, start artificial respiration
immediately and maintain until a physician takes charge of
the exposed person.
Use a bag valve mask or similar device to perform artificial
respiration.
Symptomatic treatment and supportive therapy as indicated
after decontamination. Recovery is normally spontaneous.
Emergency measure - Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, immediately flush with plenty
of water or eyewash solution. See physician immediately.
For eye contamination, instillation of local anaesthetic may
be considered.
Emergency measure - Skin: In case of contact with skin, immediately flush with plenty
of water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Obtain medical attention.
If allowed to penetrate the skin, this product may cause an
irritation similar to sunburn. The substance will be drawn
into a non-polar environment such as a fat based oil or
cream. Vitamin E cream has been reported to be beneficial.
Water is highly polar and will not decrease, but may prolong
the irritation. Hot water may increase the pain
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed and the exposed person is conscious, make
him/her vomit quickly. Make the exposed person drink 1 or 2
glasses of water (not milk or cream or other substance
containing fats, which may enhance absorption) and let
him/her induce vomiting by touching the back of the throat
with a finger. Wash out mouth with water. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry chemical or carbon dioxide for small fires; water spray
or foam for large fires.
Product arising from burning: The essential breakdown products are carbon oxides, hydrogen
chloride, hydrogen fluoride, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen
cyanide, and various chlorinated and fluorinated compounds.

Protective equipment: Firemen should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and
protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear respirator; chemical resistant gloves such as barrier
laminate, butyl rubber, nitrile rubber or viton; safety
glasses; and protective clothing such as water-proof pants,
coat, hat, rubber boots or rubber overshoes.
Stop the source of the spill immediately if safe to do so.
Contain the spill to prevent any further contamination of
surface, soil or water. Reduce and avoid formation of
airborne dust as much as possible.
Spills on the floor or other impervious surface should be
swept up immediately and placed in suitable containers.
Rinse area with strong industrial detergent and much water.
Absorb wash liquid with suitable inert absorbent such as
Fuller's earth, bentonite or other absorbent clay and place
contaminated absorbent in the same containers.
Spills in water should be contained as much as possible by
isolation of the contaminated water. The contaminated water
must be collected and removed for treatment or disposal.
Spills that soak into the ground should be dug up and placed
in suitable containers.
The used containers should be marked. Any collected spill
material, contaminated waste or absorbent must be disposed
of in accordance with the instructions provided.
Washings must be prevented from entering surface water
drains. Uncontrolled discharge into water courses must be
alerted to the appropriate regulatory body.
The product may be disposed of through controlled
incineration.
Handling and storage
Handling: Handling of the substance will be in closed system.
All direct contact with the substance must be avoided by use
of adequate safety equipment, especially chemical
resistant gloves, such as barrier laminate, butyl rubber,
nitrile rubber or viton.
The inhalation of dust or spray mist must be avoided.
Storage: Keep container tightly closed and in well ventilated place.
Protect against strong heat, e.g. fire.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel drums.

Transport: The substance will be transported either as a 60%
manufacturing concentrate (emulsion in Solvesso 200) or a
microencapsulated preparation. The hazardous properties of
the preparation are greatly reduced as compared to the pure
substance. The concentration in the preparations are between
1.5% and 15% w/w. The requirements for transport vary for
each of these situations as determined by international
regulations.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: The substance is very toxic if inhaled (dust or aerosols),
toxic if swallowed, harmfull in contact with skin, and
irritating to the eyes. It may cause skin hypersensitivity
in certain individuals.
Long-term, repeated exposure may cause functional changes in
the central and peripheral nervous systems.
The substance is very toxic to fish and wildlife. The
substance is expected to bind firmly to soil particles.
Chemical reaction with water: The substance will not react with water.

Disposal considerations

Recycling not relevant for normal use.
Spills on the floor or other impervious surface should be
contained or diked and then absorbed with an inert
absorptive material such as hydrated lime, sawdust, Fuller's
earth or other inert absorbent. Collect the contaminated
absorbent, place in a metal drum and dispose of in
accordance with local regulations.
Large spills that soak into the ground should be dug up,
placed in metal drums and disposed of in accordance with
local regulations
