Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.
Remove contaminated clothing and launder before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.
Fire-fighting measures
powder and water.
Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides
together with some soot. Analysis of volatiles emitted on
heating at 150 deg C indicates high levels of methyl
methacrylate, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, and styrene.
At lower levels, isopropyl benzene, benzaldehyde, alpha-
methylstyrene, acetophenone and 2-methylbenzaldehyde are
detectable.
Product determined by test: Y
Protective equipment: Wear suitable protective clothing. A self contained
breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Wear suitable protective clothing. (cf 2.3.1)
Avoid dust formation, damp down area with water. For
solutions, absorb using a suitable inert material (eg, sand
or soil).
Collect waste using mechanical means (industrial vacuum
cleaner) and place in containers for dispoal at an approved
landfill site or incineration.
Handling and storage
skin. If exposure cannot be prevented or aqequately
controlled, use personal protective equipment (goggles,
gloves, apron). If respiratory equipment has to be used, it
must be capable of controlling exposure and be suitable for
the purpose (eg. EN149 FFP1).
Storage: No special precautions.
Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approved landfill site is possible (A650)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be disposed of at an approved facility
equipped with waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen oxides.
(A661)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. However, the substance is unlikely to have
any adverse effects on sewage treatment systems.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is returned to the manufacturer within the
original cartridge for recycling. (B612)
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The cartridge containing the substance is returned to the
manufacturer for recycling (cf 6.2.1).
