- Remarks:
- Testing done in China. Not specified.
- Analytical monitoring:
- not specified
- Vehicle:
- no
- Test organisms (species):
- activated sludge
- Details on inoculum:
- Activated Sludge was derived from the DaTanSha Sewage Treatment Plant of Guangzhou. On return to the laboratory
the sludge was washed with tap water. After centrifuging the supernatant was decanted. This procedure was repeated three
times. A small amount of the washed sludge was weighed and dried. From the sludge concentration of 13. lg/L, the amount
of sludge was calculated which was suspended in water in order to obtain an activated sludge with a mixed liquor
suspended solids level of 4g/L and pH was 7-8. - Test type:
- static
- Water media type:
- freshwater
- Limit test:

- Remarks:
- 3, 5-dichloropheno
- Basis for effect:
- inhibition of total respiration
- Remarks on result:
- other: Positive control
- Duration:
- 3 h
- Dose descriptor:
- EC10
- Effect conc.:
- > 100 mg/L
- Nominal / measured:
- nominal
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Basis for effect:
- inhibition of total respiration
- Details on results:
- Results
The 3h-EC50 of 3, 5-dichlorophenol was 7.6 mg/Lin range of 5 mg/L-30 mg/L.
According to the result of the range-finding test, the Inhibition rate of the test solution with the highest concentration of
100mg/L was 9.77% so that the 3h-EC50 oftest substance was > 100mg/L - Reported statistics and error estimates:
- The two control respiration rates were within 15 percent of each other.
- Conclusions:
- The Inhibition rate of the test solution with the highest concentration of 100mg/L was 9.77% so that the 3h-EC10 of test substance was > 100mg/L
