The studies under IUCLID section 6.1 do not need to be conducted if there are mitigating factors indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur for instance if the substance is highly insoluble in water or the substance is unlikely to cross biological membranes.
The substance is insoluble in water. Further, the substance will be registered as isolated intermediate under strictly controlled conditions and hence, rigorous containment of the substance by technical means, supported by procedural and control technologies in place, is used to minimise emissions and resulting exposure during the whole life cycle of the intermediate.
Due to that the short-term & long-term studies can be omitted.
