Vapour Pressure Statement
The vapour pressure of a substance is defined as the saturation pressure above a solid or liquid substance. At the thermodynamic equilibrium, the vapour pressure of a pure substance is a function of temperature only.
The experimental measurement of the vapour pressure by gas saturation method or many other usually methods, cannot be applied due to technical reasons because the test item is a multicomponent mixture.
But also the estimation method by calculation from the modified Watson correlation is not applicable, due to many unknown variables: heat of vaporization, normal boiling point, compressibility factor.
It is possible to state that the vapour pressure is low, because the substance melting point (the substance burnt before reaching the boiling point) is high.
