The measurements in aluminium crucibles with a hole showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 210 - 240 °C with an onset temperature of 227 °C to 230 °C. An exothermal effect was observed in the temperature range of 240 - 495 °C with an energy of 934 J/g and 1470 J/g, respectively. The onset temperature was derived from the intersection of the tangent line with the highest slope of the endothermal peak with the baseline.
The test item had a melting range of 226.9 °C to 229.6 °C.

Description of key information
Melting range: 226.9 °C to 229.6 °C (pure substance) - 228.4 - 230.1 °C (technical substance)
(OECD Guideline 102, DSC measurement)
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
- 228.4 °C
Additional information
The lower value of the melting range for technical substance has been selected as key value. Technical purity represents better the reality and the lower temperature value has been selected as the "worst case".
