Conclusion on classification

Acute ecotoxicity studies are available for fish, Daphnia and algae for rhodium trinitrate (hydrate). The most sensitive trophic level based on these results is algae. Results for growth rate would usually be used to determine classification but as the EC50 based on growth rate is unbounded (>0.91 mg/L) the acute classification is based on the biomass EC50 (0.88 mg/L), which leads to a Category 1 acute ecotoxicity classification. The NOEC from the algal study (0.037 mg/L) leads to a classification of Chronic Category 1. Therefore, based on the algal study results a classification of Acute Category 1, Chronic Category 1 is assigned to this substance, with acute and chronic M factors of 1.
