Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Value:
1 150 mg/kg bw
Quality of whole database:
Klimisch 4 studies. Acceptable for classification.

Additional information

Two klimisch 4 studies have been used to fill this endpoint. The data obtained for both studies are very similar with regard to the toxicity observed. The Moreno study conducted in 1977 has a LD50 of ca. 1.15 mg/kg and the personnel communication is a 1 page document which indicates that the LD50 for females is 1343 mg/kg, and the LD50 for males is 2623 mg/kg. Therefore the worse case scenario is the Moreno study and this will be used for classification purposes.

Justification for selection of acute toxicity – oral endpoint
Two klimisch 4 studies have been used to fill this endpoint.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Moreno study for acute oral toxicity indicates that the LD50 is 1.15 mg.kg.
