- Guideline:
- EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
- Version / remarks:
- Directive 92/69/EEC (which constitutes Annex V of Directive 67/548/EEC)
- Deviations:
- no
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- ISO 3679 (Determination of flash point - Rapid equilibrium closed cup method)
- Version / remarks:
- 1983 (F)
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- ASTM D3278 (Standard test methods for flash point of liquids by small scale closed-cup apparatus)
- Version / remarks:
- 1996
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Not applicable
- GLP compliance:

- Flash point apparatus:
- other: Rapid Flash Tester RT-1
- Dynamic viscosity of test material:
- no data
- Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Storage condition of test material: Refrigerator (between 0 and 10 °C under nitrogen)
- Flash point:
- 104 °C
- Atm. press.:
- 97.4 kPa
- Remarks on result:
- other: measured; accuracy ± 2 °C
- Key result
- Flash point:
- 105 °C
- Atm. press.:
- 101.325 kPa
- Remarks on result:
- other: corrected to normal atmP
- Interpretation of results:
- GHS criteria not met
- Remarks:
- GHS and EU-CLP criteria not met
- Conclusions:
- The flash point of test substance is above the classification thresholds of 60°C (CLP criteria) or 93°C (GHS criteria). Therefore, the test substance is NOT a flammable liquid.
- Executive summary:
The flash point of the test substance was determined under GLP according to ISO 3679 (listed in EU guideline), using a closed cup equilibrium method.
The test was carried out in duplicate. The measured value of 104°C in both assays was corrected to normal atmospheric pressure.
The normal flash point of test substance has been determined to be 105°C.

Additional information
A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized EC method (closed cup), is available. It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data for purpose of CSA.
This study is relevant for the classification regarding flammable properties. (see IU Section 4.13 endpoint summary for justification of non-classification)
