First-aid measures

General information:

Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid. Remove contaminated soaked clothing immediately and dispose of safely. Take away from danger area and lay down affected person.

After inhalation:

Take affected person into fresh air. Seek medical treatment immediately.

After contact with skin:

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with plenty of water. Consult a physician.

After contact with eyes:

Eye rinsing with water carefully while protecting unhurt eye. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Summon a doctor immediately.

After ingestion:

Do not induce vomiting. Rinse out mouth thoroughly with water. Drink plenty of water. Summon a doctor immediately.

immediately.

Advice to doctor:

In the event of pulmonary irritation treat initially with dexamethasone metered-dose aerosol.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water, water mist, Alcohol-resistant foam.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet

Special exposure hazards arriving from substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases:

Fire may produce: Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), Ammonia, Formaldehyde vapours, Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Additional information:

Cool containers at risk with water spray jet. Do not release chemically contaminated water into drains, soil or surface waters. Sufficient measures must be taken to retain water used for extinguishing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Avoid dust formation.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Methods for cleaning up/taking up: Pick up mechanically, avoiding dust, and provide disposal in suitable recipients. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly. Flush away residues with water.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Advice on safe handling:

Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Care for suitable extraction / ventilation at processing machines. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from moisture. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion

In case of special conditions product may dust-explode. Take measures against electrostatic charging. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Storage

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Advice on storage compatibility: Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, Acids

Storage class (VCI) : 4.1 B

Exposure controls / personal protection

Occupational exposure controls: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Protective and hygiene measures:

Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using do not eat or drink. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Remove and wash contaminated clothes before re-use. Preventive hand protection is recommended.

Respiratory protection: Half mask with a particle filter P2 (European Norm EN 143 = former DIN 3181).

Hand protection:

Glove material specification [make/type, thickness, permeation time/life, wetting resistance]: Butyl latex, 0.7 mm, 480 min., 60 min., i.e. protective glove made by www.kcl.de. This recommendation refers exclusively to the chemical compatibility and the lab test conforming to EN 374 carried out under lab conditions. Requirements can vary as a function of the use. Therefore it is necessary to adhere additionally to the recommendations given by the manufacturer of protective gloves.

Eye protection: Safety goggles

Skin protection: Impermeable protective overall

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents, Acids

Hazardous decomposition products: Ammonia, Formaldehyde

Disposal considerations

Advice on disposal:

Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal. Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations. It is not possible to give this product a waste code number according to the European waste catalogue because only the intended use of the user consents the assignment of a specific code number. The waste code number must be agreed with the disposer / manufacturer / competent authority.

Contaminated packaging:

Empty containers should be taken for local recycling, recovery or waste disposal. Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible and after appropriate cleansing may be taken for reuse. Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of like the product.
