First-aid measures
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical advice.
First aide personnel: pay attention to self-protection!
In case of inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable and well-ventilated for breathing. If difficulties occur after dust has been inhaled, seek medical attention.
In case of skin contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Seek medical attention as needed or if irritation develops.
In case of eye contact: Check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately flush eyes with running
clean water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open. Seek medical attention.
In case of ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. In case of spontaneous vomiting be sure that vomitus can freely drain due of danger of suffocation. Give water repeatedly. If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to help prevent aspiration. Do not induce vomiting/risk of damage to lungs exceeds poisoning risk. Give nothing by mouth in cases of unconsciousness or convulsion. Seek medical attention if necessary and show the container or label.
In case of body contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing.
Self-protection of the first-aiders: No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training.
Notes to physician: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reason: carbon dioxide
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: harmful vapours. Evolution of fumes/fog. The substances/groups of substance mentioned can be released in case of fire.
Advice for fire-fighters: Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus and turn-out gear.
Hazard decomposition products: As with any organic material, this substance may produce toxic carbon monoxide and dioxide fumes if heated to decomposition and airborne dust may present an explosion hazard.
Other information: Avoid whirling up the material/product because of the danger of dust explosion. Dusty conditions may ignite explosively in the presence of an ignition source causing flash fire.
Do not enter fire area without proper protection. Fight fire from safe distance/protected location. Move container from fire area if you can do it without risk. Do not scatter spilled material with high-pressure water streams. Use agents suitable for type of surrounding fire. Avoid breathing hazardous vapours, keep upwind.
Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or groundwater. Contaminated water from fire hoses or sprinkler etc must be prevented from draining into watercourses, sewers or the ground water. Sufficient measures must be taken to retain water used for extinguishing. Contaminated water and soil must be disposed of in conformity with local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Contain contaminated water/fire-fighting water. Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Spills/Leaks: Avoid raising dust. Shut off all sources of ignition. Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, carefully sweep up material and place in suitable labelled, tightly sealed containers for disposal.
For small amount: pick up with suitable appliance and dispose of.
For large amounts: contain with dust binding material and dispose of.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling: As a general rule, not to eat, drink and smoke in work areas; to wash hands after use and; to remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. In accordance with good industrial practice, industrial hygiene principles and relevant legal provisions, handle with care and avoid unnecessary personal contact. Closed containers should only be opened in well-ventilated areas.
Handling requirement: Ensure good ventilation/local exhaust at the workplace. Avoid creating dusty conditions. Keep away from ignition sources. Avoid inhalation and skin and eye contact. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Fire and explosion hazard: This substance is not expected to present an explosion hazard during normal transportation and storage operations. However, when dispersed in air and subject to sufficient energy of ignition, it may pose a dust explosion hazard. Minimize the energy of ignition, it may pose a dust explosion hazard. Minimize the potential for dust explosion by eliminating/controlling ignition sources (bond and ground), and by using good housekeeping practices during storage, transfer, handling and use to avoid excessive dust accumulation. Protection against fire and explosion. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Condition and materials to avoid: Direct sunlight, excessive light, moisture, oxidizing conditions, excessively high temperatures, sparks and open flame, dusting conditions.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place against strong oxidizers when not in use and during transport, prevent contamination with foreign materials. Keep chemical away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks, open flame and other ignition sources. Keep away from food and drink. Store in the original container securely closed. Protect from moisture and physical damage.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Precautionary measures: Do not handle this chemical near heat, sparks or open flame. Prevent electrostatic discharge formation. Avoid accumulation of dust in enclosed space. Keep container closed when not in use. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Use only with adequate ventilation/personal protection.
Hygiene measures: Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling this chemical or products containing this chemical, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food. During synthesis, formulation or application, follow good industrial hygiene practice. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
Respiratory protection: Wear a NIOSH-certified (or equivalent) organic vapour/particulate respirator. In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use respiratory protective device that is independent of circulating air.
Hand protection: Chemical resistant protective gloves. Gloves should be worn at all times when handling substance and/or mixtures containing substance. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove’s outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this chemical. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the substance or/and mixtures containing substance:
Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields.
Eye protection to EN 166, designed to protect against powders and dusts;
Eye protection to EN 166, designed to protect against liquid splashes.
Skin protection: Protective working clothes, closed footwear. The skin protection equipments should be cleaned thoroughly after each use.
Body protection: Impermeable protective work clothing, closed footwear.
Stability and reactivity
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Dust explosion hazard.
Conditions to avoid: Avoid electro-static discharge. Avoid light. Avoid sources of ignition.
Incompatible materials: Strong acids, strong bases and strong oxidising agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: No decomposition expected under normal storage conditions. Thermal decomposition and burning may produce carbon oxides.
Polymerisation: Hazardous polymerisation has not been reported to occur under normal temperatures and pressures.
Disposal considerations
Waste from residues/unused products: Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater. Residual chemical should be disposed by incineration or by other modes or disposal in compliance with local/regional/national/international regulations.
Contaminated packaging: The packaging must not be re-used. Recommend crushing, puncturing or other means to prevent unauthorized use of used containers.
