Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Reliable acute toxicity tests results are available for freshwater fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss), invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata).
The relevant short-term values are:
Fish: LC50 (96 h): >200 mg/l, nominal concentration; >110 mg/l, measured concentration of parent substance.
Daphnia: EC50 (48 h): >200 mg/l, nominal concentration; >122 mg/l, measured concentration of parent substance.
Algae: ErC50 (72 h): >120 mg/l; NOEC: ≥120 mg/l, nominal concentration; >3.6 mg/l and ≥3.6 mg/l, measured concentration of parent substance.
It is likely that, under the flow-through test conditions, the fish and invertebrates were exposed to a mixture of the parent test substance and its hydrolysis products. However, under the static conditions employed in the algal test, the test organisms were predominantly exposed to the hydrolysis products of the substance. These presumptions are reflected in the measured concentrations of the parent substance relative to nominal.
To support the chemical safety assessment of the hydrolysis product methylsilanetriol (CAS 2445-53-6; EC No. 219-489-9), data have been read across from a substance which rapidly hydrolyses to methylsilanetriol. Reliable short-term toxicity tests results are available for freshwater fish (Danio rerio), invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) read across from triethoxy(methyl)silane (CAS 2031-67-6; EC No. 217-983-9). The relevant short-term values are:
Fish: LC50 (96 h): >500 mg/l nominal concentration or >264 mg/l expressed in terms of concentration of the hydrolysis product, methylsilanetriol.
Daphnia: EC50 (48 h): >500 mg/l nominal concentration or >264 mg/l expressed in terms of concentration of the hydrolysis product, methylsilanetriol.
Algae: EC50 (72 h): >500 mg/l; NOEC: ≥500 mg/l nominal concentration or >264 mg/l and ≥264 mg/l, respectively, expressed in terms of concentration of the hydrolysis product, methylsilanetriol.
Reliable data for long-term toxicity to Daphnia magna are available with methylsilanetriol. In this test the 21-day NOEC for survival, growth and reproduction was found to be ≥10 mg/l based on the mean measured concentration.
An activated sludge respiration inhibition 3-hour EC10 value of >100 mg/l (loading rate) was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP.
Refer to IUCLID Section 6 endpoint summary, CSR Section 7.0, for further discussion of the approach to chemical safety assessment and justification for read-across.
