Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
GENERAL INFORMATION
Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.
Remove breathing apparatus only after soiled clothing has been completely removed.
AFTER INHALATION
Supply fresh air or oxygen; call for doctor.
In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.
AFTER SKIN CONTACT
Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.
AFTER EYE CONTACT
Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.
If symptoms persist, consult doctor.
AFTER SWALLOWING
Instantly call for doctor.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING AGENTS
Use fire fighting measures that suit the environment.
Material mixture is not combustible
SPECIAL HAZARDS CAUSED BY THE MATERIAL, ITS PRODUCTS OF COMBUSTION OR FLUE GASES
--
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus
Avoid contact with skin and eyes
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately.
Do not empty into drains / surface water / ground water.
Dispose of contaminated material as waste. In consultation with the responsible local authority, must be subjected to special treatment: Detoxification
Cool endangered containers with water spray jet to avoid burst through expansion.
Accidental release measures
PERSON-RELATED SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Avoid causing dust.
Use personal protection equipment (acid resistant gloves and shoes, googles).
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Use breathing protection against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
MEASURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Do not allow to enter drainage system, surface or ground water.
Do not allow to enter the ground/soil.
MEASURES FOR CLEANING/COLLECTING
Collect mechanically.
Neutralize with acid-binding material (e.g. powdered limestone).
Dispose of contaminated material as waste.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
See "Exposure controls / personal protection" section for information on personal protection equipment.
Handling and storage
HANDLING
INFORMATION FOR SAFE HANDLING:
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Prevent formation of dust.
Ensure that suitable extractors are available on processing machines.
Carry out filling operations only at sites with extractors available.
Any deposit of dust which cannot be avoided must be removed regularly.
Open and handle container with care.
Avoid skin and eye contact.
INFORMATION ABOUT PROTECTION AGAINST EXPLOSIONS AND FIRES
No special measures required.
STORAGE
REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET BY STOREROOMS AND CONTAINERS
Prevent any penetration into the ground.
Store frost-free
INFORMATION ABOUT STORAGE IN ONE COMMON STORAGE FACILITY
Store away from foodstuffs.
FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT STORAGE CONDITIONS
Keep container tightly sealed.
Store in a locked cabinet or with access restricted to technical experts or their assistants.
Ensure sufficient capacity available for collecting up extinguishing agent again.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS:
Ensure good ventilation/suction at the workplace
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:
If there is atomisation
HAND PROTECTION:
Chemical-resistant protective gloves (EN 374). Suitable materials for short-term contact or splashes (recommended: at least protection index 2, corresponding to > 30 minutes permeation time as per EN 374): Polychloroprene (CR; >= 1mm thickness) or natural rubber (NR; >= 1 mm thickness). Suitable materials for longer, direct contact (recommended: protection index 6, corresponding to > 480 minutes permeation time as per EN 374): Polychloroprene (CR; >= 1 mm thickness) or natural rubber (NR; >= 1 mm thickness). This information is based on literature references and on information provided by glove manufacturers, or is derived by analogy with similar substances. Please note that in practice the working life of chemical-resistant protective gloves may be considerably shorter than the permeation time determined in accordance with EN 374 as a result of the many influencing factors (e.g. temperature). If signs of wear and tear are noticed then teh gloves should be replaced.
EYE PROTECTION
Protective goggles
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid:
No decomposition if used according to specifications.
Materials to avoid:
Reacts with alkalis: Heat generated.
Hazardous decomposition products:
None if used for intended purpose.
Disposal considerations
Product disposal:
In consultation with the responsible local authority, must be subjected to special treatment: Detoxification
