Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The particle size distribution of sample P.1034 and P.1082 determined by means of Laser-Diffraction (Laser-Granulometer, liquid dispersion):
d10 = 0.8 µm (gBOS P.1034); 0.6 µm (gBOS P.1082);
d50 = 9.4 µm (gBOS P.1034); 6.5 µm (gBOS P.1082);
d90 = 49.1 µm (gBOS P.1034); 41.6 µm (gBOS P.1082);
The particle size distribution of sample P.1125 and P.1183 determined by means of sieving analysis:
d10 = 2200 µm (gBOS P.1125); 2200 µm (gBOS P.1183);
d50 = 3300 µm (gBOS P.1125); 4000 µm (gBOS P.1183);
d90 = 5000 µm (gBOS P.1125); 5900 µm (gBOS P.1183).

Additional information

The samples (P.1034 and P.1082) taken from the plant of Holcim in Dotternhausen (Germany) are fine powders. Therefore the particle size distribution of these two samples were determined by using laser-diffraction method. The particle size is in the range of 0.3 to 90 µm. The PM4 (alveolar fraction, 4 µm or smaller) accounts for 33.4% and 39.1% of the P.1034 and P.1082 particles, respectively.

The samples (P.1125 and P.1183) taken from the plant of ICL Fertilizer Europe C.V. in Arava (Israel) are in granular forms. So the particle size distribution of these two samples were measured by using automated sieving method. The particle size is in the range from 0.125 to 8.0 mm.
