Administrative data
First-aid measures
air. If breathing is difficult or ceases, ensure and
maintain ventilation. Give oxygen as appropriate. The
exposed subject should be kept warm and at rest. Obtain
medical attention in cases of known or possible over-
exposure, or with symptoms including chest pain, difficult
breathing, loss of consciousness or other adverse effects
which may be delayed.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash immediately with plenty of clean and gently flowing
water. Continue for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Using appropriate PPE, remove contaminated clothing and
flush the exposed area with large amounts of water. Obtain
medical attention if skin reaction occurs, which may be
immediate or delayed.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Never attempt to induce vomiting. Do not attempt to give any
solid or liquid by mouth if the exposed subject is
unconscious or semi-conscious. Wash out mouth with water. If
the exposed subject is fully conscious, give plenty of
water to drink. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain soot, oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulphur and hydrogen chloride.

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective
equipment are recommended.
Accidental release measures
indviduals to touch or walk through the spilled material
unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Avoid
generating dust.
Prevent entry to waterways, sewers, surface drains and
poorly ventilated areas. If the spill is outdoors, cover
with a plastic sheet to minimise spreading or contact with
rain.
Collect material and place it in a suitable properly
labelled container for recovery or disposal. Wash down
spillage site with plenty of water only if waste-water can
be directed to a waste water treatment system.
Handling and storage
in a downflow booth with the use of full PPE. Engineering
controls include the use of a glovebox technology to charge
the system that results in a virtually closed system. The
receiving vessel is inert with nitrogen and the glovebox is
also inert. Additionally, entry to the working area is
controlled.
Operators handling the substance during charging wear the
following PPE to further minimise any potential exposure of
material incidentally released: Tyvek suit, impermeable
protective gloves and airhood, respirex EN standard 943 part
I.
During charging local exhaust ventilation is provided to
further minimise exposure to dust.
Further hygiene controls in place include: Eating, drinking
etc. are prohibited. Access is only to authorised personnel,
appropriately gowned and conforming to local SOPs. Work
clothing is not worn outside the facility. All staff are
appropriately trained in safe working procedures and
provided with information on materials and processes.
Storage: Keep in tightly closed double lined fibre kegs (20kg of
material per bag) away from moisture and away from sources
of ignition. The storeroom is secure, protected from
sunlight and not subject to elevated temperatures above 20
deg C (conditions that might generate heat and dispersion as
a dust cloud).

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: None known.
Dust explosion: As with many organic dusts, explosion may occur if this
material is dispersed as a dust cloud and ignited.
Dust cloud ignition produces a weak dust explosion (St 1;
Kst = 108 Bar m/s). Dust cloud explosions will produce
moderate maximum pressure (Pmax = 7.5 Bar). Dust clouds are
of very low sensitivity to ignition from electrostatic
discharges (>500 mJ). Dust clouds are of low sensitivity to
ignition from hot surfaces (450 deg C). No ignition or
exotherm of powder layers observed up to 400 deg C.
This material is classified as a non-combustable solid and
will not support propagating combustion. It can support
combustion in the vacinity of a very hot ignition source.

accordance with local/national legislation.
