Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
non flammable, EU Method A.10 and A.12, Mclean 2012
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flammability:
- non flammable
Additional information
A flammability test was performed in accordance with EU Method A.10 and under GLP conditions to ascertain the flammable properties of the test material. An initial preliminary test showed that the test material did not ignite during direct contact with the hot flame from a gas burner and instead melted in the presence of the flame. A full test test was therefore considered unnecessary and the test material is considered to be non flammable.
A flammability (contact with water) test was performed in accordance with EU Method A.12 and under GLP conditions to determine the flammable properties of the test material when in contact with water. This test concluded that the test material is not considered to be flammable when in contact with water.
In accordance with section 1.5 of REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, the study does not need to be performed based on assessment of the chemical structure pyrophoric proerties are not to be expected and this is supported by experience in handling and use for hte substance. According to ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment (Chapter R. 7 a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, R. 7.1.10.4, May 2008), pyrophophoricity testing is scientifically unjustified.
Justification for classification or non-classification
The substance does not meet classification criteria under EU Directive 67/548/EEC as flammable.
The substance does not meet classification criteria under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as flammable.
