Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures
Inhalation:
Stop work. Go outside the treated area. Or transport the affected person outside the treated area.
Call a doctor.ALWAYS call a doctor immediately if inhaled.
Skin contact:Unlikely route of exposure.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with large quantities of water for 10-15 minutes. While flushing, keep
eyelids open even by using force. Obtain medical help immediately!
Ingestion:Ingestion is not an applicable route of exposure for gases.
Protection of first aiders:When providing first aid, it is essential to ensure both the rescue and the rescued safety. Use the
prescribed PPE.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:Fragmented water stream, powder ABCD, foam AFFF. Fire-fighting measures are necessary to adapt according to conditions around.
Unsuitable extinguishing media:Direct water stream.
Explosive with air. Heavier than air, may accumulate at low places. Hazardous products of
decomposition may be hydrogen cyanide, oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide.
Protective chemical wear and self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 137). It is necessary to cool
the cylinders as an uncontrolled increase in pressure (fire, overheating) may result in a quick EDN
leak, its polymerization and consequent burst of the cylinder.
Accidental release measures
For employees except emergency employees: Wear appropriate PPE (see Section 8) to avoid any
contamination of skin, eyes and personal clothing. Remove sources of ignition. Leave the
contaminated area.
For employees who intervene in case of emergency: Ensure adequate protective chemical wear
and self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 137) in case of emergency.
Handling and storage
Ensure that all personnel handling the substance are trained in safe handling and emergency
procedures in case of accident. It is essential to prevent all contact with gas. EDN can be handled
only by qualified persons who received special training.
EDN should only be stored under controlled conditions in clearly designated and well-ventilated
areas. Keep container dry and cool. Keep away from alkalis, oxidizing agents, flammable and
combustible materials. Keep away from food and tobacco products. Storeroom can be entered
only by a person with a gasmask at hand, qualified and trained to work with EDN.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Technical measures and the use of appropriate working procedures take precedence over the use
of PPE.
Respiratory protection:Face mask (EN136) with type B2 filter or its equivalent, e.g. combined filter A2B2E2K2P3D) (EN 14
387 + A1), self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133).
Hand protection:Gloves (eg KCL 732); (tested according to EN ISO 374-1); thickness: min 0.4 mm;
material: nitrile; penetration time:> 240 min.
Eye / face protection:Face mask - see above
Skin protection:Protective clothing (EN ISO 13688) and boots (ISO 20 346).
Stability and reactivity
Can form explosive mixture with air. May react violently Reactivity with oxidants.
Conditions to avoid: Sparks, flames, hot surfaces.
Incompatible materials: Oxidizing materials.
Hazardous decomposition products: Hydrogen cyanide, cyanic acid.
Disposal considerations
Catalogue No. of mixture waste:16 05 04 gases in pressure containers (including halons) containing hazardous substances
Waste codes / waste designations
according to LoW:15 01 10 packaging containing residues of or contaminated by hazardous substances
Recommended procedure for packaging
disposal:This product is transported in cylinders which are returned to the manufacturer, properly secured
and with all unused product. Make sure all outlets are secured and return protective cap to its
place. Empty cylinders which cannot be refilled deliver to the manufacturer for disposal in
accordance with applicable legislation on waste management.
Sewage disposal-relevant information:Avoid release of contaminated water to sewage.
Other disposal recommendations:Waste disposal and container liquidation must be in accordance with local, state or national
legislation.
