The likely environmental fate of the substance has been assessed based on the substances physico-chemical properties and relevant available study data.

The substances water solubility and very low octanol/water partition coefficient (log10Pow -3.81), indicate that the substance will predominately stay in the aquatic environment. The substances calculated low adsorption coefficient (log10 Koc) -1.97 indicates that the substance has low potential for adsorption to sediments and soils and is therefore not likely to partition from the aquatic compartment into the sediment or soil compartments.

Therefore the predominate environmental fate pathway is considered to be the aquatic environment.

The substance is readily biodegradable, as it attained 60% degradation after 28 days and satisfied the 10-Day window validation criterion, whereby 60% degradation must be attained within 10 days of the degradation exceeding 10%. The test item can therefore be considered to be readily biodegradable under the strict terms and conditions of OECD Guideline No. 301B.

Based on these results the substance will not persist in the aquatic environment.

As well as not being persistent in the aquatic environment, the substances log10 Pow (-3.81) indicates that the substance has no potential for bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms.
