First-aid measures

General information:Pay attention to self-protection. Move out of dangerous area. Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Place patients who are unconscious but breathing in the stabilized lateral position. Do not leave the victim unattended.

Inhalation:After inhalation move subject to fresh air. Seek medical advice. With labored breathing: Provide with oxygen. Consult a doctor immediately. If the casualty is not breathing: Perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, notify emergency physician immediately.

Skin Contact:Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Continue decontamination with polyethylene glycol 400 after initial rinsing with water and then wash with water and soap. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Eye contact:Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Protect unharmed eye. Remove contact lenses if this can be easily done. Consult an ophthalmologist immediately if the symptoms persist.

Ingestion:If the product has been swallowed or vomited danger of penetration into the lung (danger of aspiration). Rinse mouth. Seek medical advice.

Personal Protection for First-aid Responders:Pay attention to self-protection.

Symptoms:Health injuries may be delayed. irritant effects sensitising effects

Hazards:Irritating to skin. May cause sensitization by skin contact.

Treatment:Aspiration Hazard On swallowing followed by vomiting, aspiration in the lung may result leading to a toxic lung oedema . No specific antidote known. Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing mediaSuitable extinguishing media:Water spray, foam, CO2, dry powder.Unsuitable extinguishing media:High volume water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:In case of fire cool endangered containers with water. Closed container may rupture if strongly heated. Formation of flammable or explosive vapour/air mixtures possible. Keep away from sources of ignition -No smoking.

Advice for firefighters

Special fire fighting procedures:Standard procedure for chemical fires. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system. Fire water retention in Germany: cf. Art. 20 of the Ordinance on Facilities for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV)

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:As in any fire, wear self-contained positive-pressure breathing apparatus and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:For personal protection see section 8. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe in vapours or aerosols. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from sources of ignition -No smoking.

Environmental Precautions:Do not allow entrance in sewage water, drainage systems, stretches of water, soil. Avoid penetration into drainage system or in rooms situated at a lower level because of danger of explosion. Issue an immediate alarm report to the company environmental protection department if the product unintentionally leaves the production area.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:Take up mechanically or with an absorbent material. Fill into marked, sealable containers. To be disposed of in compliance with existing regulations.Suitable absorbents: Universal binder absorbent for liquids

Reference to other sections:For personal protection see section 8. For disposal considerations see section 13.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Technical measures (e.g. Local and general ventilation):The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Article 17/18 of the REACH regulation.Refill and handle product only in closed system. Leak detection recommended Minimization of emissions by means of suitable technicalmeasures such as flanges and valves with low leakage rates, recirculation of vapours. All precautionary measures indicated have to be observed.

Safe handling advice:The substance must be handledunder strictly controlled conditions according to Article 18 of the REACH regulation: Product is only handled and chemically converted when tightly enclosed within a processing system. Provision of process technologies and monitoring in case of an accident or for waste treatment. Documentation and routine review of all measures. Use only trained personnel. All precautionary measures indicated have to be observed. Risk assessment and risk monitoring of all work places required. Health, Safety and Emergency Management System recommended. Regular safety training is a must. Written approval necessary in case of non-routine jobs, e.g. maintenance activities.Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. For personal protection see section8.Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Provide good ventilation or extraction. Immediately remove contaminated clothing.

Contact avoidance measures:see Precautions for safe handling.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls Appropriate Engineering Controls:

The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Article 17/18 of the REACH regulation.Refill and handle product only in closed system. Leak detection recommended Minimization of emissions by means of suitable technical measures such as flanges and valves with low leakage rates, recirculation of vapours. Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:

In case of dusts/vapours/aerosols being formed or if the limit values like TLV are exceeded: use respiratory equipment with suitable filter (filter type A) or wear a self contained respiratory apparatusNote time limit for wearing respiratory protective equipment. Please note: National regulations.

Hand protection:

Additional Information: suitable protective gloves, e.g. rubber gloves, When handling for a short time:Material: Butyl rubber.Additional Information: The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EC Regulation 2016/425 and the standard EN 374 derived fromit., Selection of protective gloves to meet the requirements of specific workplaces., The suitability for a specific workplace should be discussed with the producers of the protective gloves., The information is based on our own tests, on data from literature and information from protective glove producers or is based on data obtained from similar substances., Be aware that in daily use the durability of a chemical resistant protective glove can be notably shorter than the break through time measured according to EN 374, due to the numerous outside influences (e.g. temperature)., Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.

Eye protection:

close-fitting protective goggles (e.g. closed goggles)

Hygiene measures:

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing beforereuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using the product. Wash with soap and water before eating, drinking, smoking or using toilet.

Protective measures:

Wear suitable protective clothing. If necessary, full body protection suit (coverall). Select materials and equipment for physical protection depending on the concentration and volume of hazardous substances and the workplace involved. The personal protective equipment used must meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and amendments (CE certification). It should be defined in the work place in the form of a risk analysis according to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and amendments.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid:

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Hazardous decomposition products:

No hazardous decomposition products known.

Hazardous reactions:

Reaction with alkalis, amines and strong acids.

Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.

Disposal considerations

With respect to local regulations, e.g. dispose of to waste incineration plant. No waste key number as per the European Waste Types List can be assigned to this product, since such classification is based on the (as yet undetermined) use to which the product is put by the consumer.

The waste key number must be determined as per the European Waste Types List (decision on EU Waste Types List 2000/532/EC) in cooperation with the disposal firm / producing firm / official authority.

Contaminated Packaging:

Packaging material should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
