Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Test procedure according to national standards (VDI 2263).
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: VDI 2263

When an ignition source (flame or hot wire) was applied at ambient temperature, the powder burned locally with a flame. There was no spreading of the combustion. The product showed liquidation. The emerging decomposition gases could be ignited.

The same behavious was observed at 100 °C.

The combustion behaviour of the product at ambient temperature is characterised by the combustion number BZ 3 (local burning without spread).

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The combustion number of the test item is BZ 3 (local burning without spread). The test item is therefore not a flammable solid class 4.1 according to the UN transport regulations.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test item was tested by determination of the combustion number according to VDI 2263. The combustion number was found to be BZ 3 (local burning without spread). The test item is therefore not a flammable solid.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Test procedure according to national standards (VDI 2263).
Justification for type of information:
See Rationale and Justification for the Analogue Read-Across Approach for the registration of the Nanoform of Pigment Red 188 using Pigment Red 22, Pigment Red 112 and Pigment Orange 38 as Source Substances (Chapter 13)
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
