Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The test substance is poorly biodegradable, has a logPow > 4, is expected to adsorb to soil particles and as such, should be formally subject to toxicity testing with terrestrial organisms.

However, in spite of the high logPow, the substance has a low bioaccumulation potential because of its molecular size (diameter of 3.38 nm) and weight (1193.86 g/mol) which hinder the molecules to cross biological membranes in aquatic and terrestrial organisms alike. Thus, although the substance might be present in the terrestrial environment due to its poor biodegradability and adsorptive properties on sludge, it is not expected to be bioavailable to organisms and thus acute and chronic effects on terrestrial organisms are unlikely.

Due to the physico-chemical properties of the substance and due to the fact that no hazard is expected from aquatic toxicity testing, further studies investigating the toxicity on terrestrial organisms are not considered necessary.
