Description of key information

Two Klimisch-1-rated studies on acute oral and dermal toxicities have been conducted. The oral LD50 value of the substance = 1406 mg/kg body weight. The dermal LD50 > 2000 mg/kg bw.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Value:
1 406 mg/kg bw

Additional information

The oral LD50 value of the substance in rats was 1406 mg/kg body weight for the sexes combined and 1571 mg/kg body weight for males alone. The estimated value for females alone was 1228 mg/kg body weight.

The dermal LD50 value of the substance in rats was established as exceeding 2000 mg/kg body weight.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the new CLP regulation (EU version of the UN GHS), with an oral LD50 between 300 and 2000 mg/kg the substance falls under classification "acute oral. tox. category 4". Based on the former EEC Directive 83/467/ECC the substance is classified as Xn, R22, harmful. No classification of the test item as to its dermal toxicity properties.
