Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information: Personal protection for the First Aider. Take affected persons out of danger area. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely. Clean body thoroughly.
After inhalation: Supply fresh air. Seek medical treatment in case of complaints.
After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Call a doctor immediately.
After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Protect unharmed eye. Call a doctor immediately.
After swallowing: Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Call a doctor immediately.
Information for doctor: · Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed No further relevant information available.
Hazards: causes burns. danger of skin damage. danger of eye damage.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: no specific antidote known. Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: Compatible with all usual extinguishing media.
For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet.
In case of fire, the following can be released: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Sulphur dioxide (SO2), Hydrogen chloride (HCl),
corrosive gases and vapours. Combustion gases of organic materials must in principle be graded as inhalation poisons.
Advice for firefighters
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device. Wear fully protective suit.
Additional information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into surface waters/groundwater. Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Pick up mechanically. Ensure adequate ventilation. Use neutralizing agent.
Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles.
Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
The prescribed regulations for work hygiene and relevant laws must be observed.
Ensure adequate ventilation. Prevent formation of dust. Any unavoidabledeposit of dust must be regularly removed.
Use appropriate industrial vacuum cleaners or central vacuum systems for dust removal.
Ensure that suitable extractors are available on processing machines
Information about fire - and explosion protection: Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection.
Storage:
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store only in the original receptacle. Provide acid-resistant floor.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Existing storage restrictions with other materials must be adhered.
Observe national and local legal requirements.
Further information about storage conditions: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Storage class: 8 (Germany)

Additional information
- Special provisions / remarks / other:
- May corrode metals - no transport in metal drums !
Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs.
Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure controls
General protective and hygienic measures:
The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.
Do not inhale dust / smoke / mist.
Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Do not eat, drink, smoke or sniff while working.
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.
Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.
Use skin protection cream for skin protection.
Respiratory protection: In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
Short term filter device (EN 143/EN 149): Filter A-P2
Protection of hands: Chemical resistant gloves (EN 374).
Check protective gloves prior to each use for their proper condition. After use of gloves apply skin-cleaning agents and skin cosmetics.
Do not reuse contaminated gloves !
Material of gloves: Natural rubber, NR; Chloroprene rubber, CR; Nitrile rubber, NBR
Recommended thickness of the material: ³ 0.7 mm
Penetration time of glove material: Level 6 = >480 min, Reference: Tricotril®, Tricopren®, Combi-Latex®
The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles (EN 166)
Body protection: Acid resistant protective clothing
Risk management measures:
Ensure that activities are executed by specialists or authorised personnel only.
Handling procedures must be well documented.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability: stable.
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Corrodes metals. Develops corrosive gases/fumes.
Conditions to avoid: Prevent accumulation of dust and formation of dust and air mixtures.
Incompatible materials: Light metals. Metals.
Hazardous decomposition products:
No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed.
Possible decomposition products with fire or thermal decomposition see chapter fire-fighting measures.
Disposal considerations
Recommendation
In accordance with local authority regulations, take to special waste incineration plant.
With the disposal within the European Union the applicable waste key is to be used after the Waste Catalogue Ordinance (AVV).
Uncleaned packaging
Recommendation:
Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning.
Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
In case of passing empty and unclean containers to others please inform about possible dangers.
Recommended cleansing agents: Water, if necessary together with cleansing agents.
