First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures - General information:
- Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
- By continuous complaints consult a physician.
After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints.
After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.
After swallowing:
- Seek medical treatment.
- Do not induce vomiting.
- Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Information for doctor:
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: No further relevant information available.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: No further relevant information available.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media - Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
- In case of fire, the following can be released: Carbon monoxide (CO)+ Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Under certain fire conditions, traces of other toxic gases cannot be excluded.
Advice for firefighters
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Additional information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
- Keep people at a distance and stay on the windward side.
- Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
- Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).
Handling and storage
Handling:
Precautions for safe handling: Keep receptacles tightly sealed.
Information about fire - and explosion protection: No special measures required.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Storage:
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Use polyolefine receptacles.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from oxidizing agents.
Further information about storage conditions: Protect from frost.
Recommended storage temperature: 5-30°C
Storage class: VCI storage category 10/12

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters:
Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: 56-81-5 glycerol, WEL Long-term value: 10 mg/m³
Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.
Exposure controls
Personal protective equipment:
General protective and hygienic measures: Do not inhale gases / fumes / aerosols.
Respiratory protection: n case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
Recommended filter device for short term use: A/P
Protection of hands: The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.
Material of gloves: Nitrile rubber, NBR; Recommended thickness of the material: ≥ 0.4 mm
Penetration time of glove material Value for the permeation: Level ≥ 6 (480 min)
As protection from splashes gloves made of the following materials are suitable: Butyl rubber, BR; Nitrile rubber, NBR;
Eye protection: Safety glasses
Body protection: Protective work clothing
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity, Chemical stability
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used
Possibility of hazardous reactions: No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to prescribed instructions.
Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.
Incompatible materials: Water (hydrolysis); Reactions with strong oxidising agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: None, if handled according to order.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods - Recommendation
Smaller quantities can be disposed of with household waste.
After prior treatment product has to be disposed ofin an incinerator for hazardous waste adhering to the regulations pertaining to the disposal of particularly hazardous waste.
Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
Uncleaned packaging:
Recommendation: Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
Recommended cleansing agents: Water, if necessary together with cleansing agents.
