Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General advice: Move out of dangerous area. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely.
- If inhaled: Move to fresh air. Make the victim blow his nose. Seek medical advice immediately.
- In case of skin contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice immediately.
- In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice immediately.
- If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Call emergency medical care or medical service of the site.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
- Symptoms: No available information.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: all means (ex: water, carbon dioxide, powder)
- Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: Strong water jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
- In case of fire, the product may emit toxic and/or irritating fumes.
- Supposed thermal decomposition/oxidation: Carbon monoxide and Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen oxides (NOx). May contain: hydrogen cyanide (CN), may form explosive mixtures (vapours heavier than air).
Advice for firefighters:
- Special protective equipment for firefighting: Use self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear full protective suit.
- Further information: Cool containers/tanks with water spray. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Avoid rejection of extinguishing water in the environment.
Accidental release measures
Panoramic mask with a suitable gas cartridge or breathing air hood according to the discharged quantities. Gloves. Dedicated workwear.
Environmental precautions:
Avoid any spreading of product.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
- General advice: Remove with inert absorbant material (sand, silica gel, binder for acid, universal binder. Vaccum or, failing thant, sweep and shovel the solid product in a suitable container for its recovery or destroying (avoiding dust formation). Close and label rigorously.
- Cleaning of contaminated zone: After taking up the product, rinse the polluted area with water.
- Elimination of recovered materials: Deliver to Environmental service of the factory or to any specialized and approved disposal service.
Additional advice:
Evacuation of area and intervention of special services.
Handling and storage
-Precaution on safe handling (industrial scale): Ventilation and extraction of dust at emission point. Enclosed transfer strongly recommended. Earth vessels and equipment. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading.
- Advice on safe handling (laboratory scale): Handling in a fume cupboard.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
- Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place.
- Advice on common storage: Do not store with strong oxidizing agents.
- Further information on storage conditions: Keep in a well closed container away from humidity and light.
- Storage temperature: Keep away from heat.
- Storage area: Flammable liquids Park 2nd category (flash point between 55 to 100°C).
- Packaging material advised: brown glass.
- Sensitivity: No particular observation.

Exposure controls / personal protection
(IMPORTANT: The equipments listed below are recommended in case of important potential exposure. In case of moderate exposure, they are to be adapted according to the risk assessment at the workplace.)
Special recommendations: Pregnant women, take medical advice from work before handling. Particular risk for skin: avoid contact with skin.
Panoramic mask or filtered air hood with appropriated gas cartridge.
Workshop
- Respiratory protection: Panoracmic mask or filtered air hood with appropriated gas cartridge.
- Hand protection: Appropriated gloves. Glove material: Butyl rubber ; Layer thickness: 0,5 mm ; Break through time: > 480 min
- Eye protection: See respiratory protection
- Body protection: Dedicated protective suit
- Hygiene measures: Wash hands.
Laboratory
- Respiratory protection: Handle in a fume cupboard
- Hand protection: Suitable gloves
- Eye protection: Safety glasses
- Body protection: Working clothes.
- Hygiene measures: Wash hands
Stability and reactivity
Safety remarks: Fammable. Keep away from flames and sources of ignition - No smoking.
Incompatible materials:
Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products:
Supposed thermal decomposition/oxidation: carbon dioxide and carbon oxide, nitrogen oxides (NOx). May contain: hydrogen cyanide (HCN).
Disposal considerations
Uncleaned packaging: Deliver to the Environmental service of the factory or to any specialized and approved disposal service. Make the container unusuable.
