Description of key information

The US EPA ECOSAr QSAR predictes for Triglyme a LC 50, 96 h, fish of ca. 36564 mg/L. Assuming that the chronic fish toxicity would be by a factor of 10 lower than the LC 50, 96 h this would lead to a chronic NOEC fish for Triglyme of 3656 mg/L. It is supported by US EPA ECOSAR estimation of the chronic NOEC fish of ca. 3167 mg/L which is regarded to be non-toxic.
Also a short-term toxicity test is available for Triglyme, LC50 > 5000 mg/L. Based on this result and on chronic QSAR result a chronic fish test is not justified because of animal welfare reasons.
