Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artifical
respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. If breathing is
difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Get medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Give two glasses of water. Do not induce vomiting. Get
medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry chemical, water spray (fog), foam or carbon dioxide
Product arising from burning: Hafnium compounds and oxides of carbon
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Standard fireman equipment is recommended
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep or shovel spills into appropriate container for
disposal
Handling and storage
Handling: Eye Protection: Wear chemical goggles or face shield.

Chemical reaction with water: Reacts with water/moisture and undergoes hydrolysis
Dust explosion: Not expected, however, no test has been conducted.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is consumed in the polymerization process. No
recycling/recovery is needed. In the event of spills, the
substance will be decomposed due to hydrolysis by moisture
in air, recovery will not be possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Exposure of substance to air will result in decomposition.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: No discharge will occur due to incorporation of the
deactivated substance being incorporated into the polymer.
The substance is easily destructed in the presence of oxygen
and/or water resulting in hydrolysis of the molecule or
formation of oxodimers.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: No incineration treatment will be needed due to the
deactivated substance being incorporated into the polymer.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: No discharge is made.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: No incineration is needed.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not needed because no waste is discharged into water system.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None
