Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

If inhaled: Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If breathing is difficult, give
oxygen. Get medical aid.
In case of skin contact: Immediately wash off skin with soap and plenty of water while removing contaminated clothing
and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Get medical aid.
In case of eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper
and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
If swallowed: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid. Do NOT induce
vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth and drink 2-4 cupfuls of water.

Fire-fighting measures

1. General information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.
During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases (CO, CO2, NOx, HCl) may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.
2. Extinguishing media:
water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam or chemical foam
3. Advice for firefighters
Wear self -contained breathing apparatus for firefighting and full protective gear. Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not
allow to reach sewage or effluent systems.

Accidental release measures

1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Use proper personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid formation of dust. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Dust can form
an explosive mixture with air.
2. Environmental precautions
Do not let this chemical enter the drains and observing precautions in the Protective Equipment section.
3. Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Pick up mechanically, then place in suitable container. Ensure adequate ventilation.
4. Reference to other sections
For disposal see section 13 of safety data sheet (disposal considerations).

Handling and storage

1. Precautions for safe handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Use chemical resistant gloves, eye protection and protective clothing should be worn. Operations should be carried out in efficient fume hood or equivalent system. Use adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of dust and ingestion. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash clothing before reuse. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. 2. Conditions for safe storage including any incompatibilities: Store in cool and dry place and protect from sunlight and heat. Keep container tightly closed in a well ventilated place. The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions as laid out in Article 17 paragraph 3 REACH-regulation. DETAILED information on the applied risk management measures in accordance with Art. 17 paragraph 3 and ECHA REACH Guidance on intermediates (2010), Annex 3 and practical guide no 16 is attached to section 13 of the IUCLID dossier.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Control parameters: Components with workplace control parameters: none. 2. Exposure control: Engineering controls: Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate ventilation to keep airborne concentrations low. Personal protective equipment. 2.1. Eye/face protection: Avoid eye contact. Wear safety glasses, goggles or, for larger quantities, a full-face shield. Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. 2.2. Skin protection: Wear appropriate chemical-resistant protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. Recommended materials: butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, fluorine rubber. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. 2.3. Body protection: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure. 2.4. Respiratory protection: A respiratory protection program that meets OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 requirements or European Standard EN 149 must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant respirator use.
