Description of key information

The substance is considered not to have oxidising properties, based on its oxygen balance (-211%).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

In the key study (Laboratoire de Biotoxicologie, Roquette Freres 62136, Lestrem, France, 1997), the oxygen balance of the substance was calculated as minus 211%. This negative result was supported qualitatively by an expert statement (RCC Research and Consulting Company AG, 4452 Itingen, Switzerland, 1991), which found that the substance was non-oxidising.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance did not meet the criteria to classify the substance as an oxidising solid, according to the EU CLP regulation (EC No.1272/2008).
