The substance is inherently biodegradable since significant mineralization of 57% was found within 60 days under conditions of a ready biodegradation study. Hence, although the substance cannot be regarded as rapidly degradable in the environment, it shows a significant potential for biodegradation and is not expected to be persistent.

Biodegradation tests in water/sediment systems and soil were not conduced, since it is assumed that less than 10% of the substance will enter surface water bodies by effluent discharge. This assumption is based on QSAR STPWIN of EPI suite (TM) which shows that 94.03% of the substance are removed during waste water treatment by sorption to sludge.
