One experimental study is available investigating the potential of bioconcentration of CYASORB ® UV-2908 Light Stabilizer (CAS 67845-93-6) in carp (Yakata, 2001). The study followed “Method for Testing the Degree of Accumulation of Chemical Substances in Fish Body” stipulated in “Testing Methods for New Chemical Substances” (among others: Kanpogyo No. 5, Planning and Coordination Bureau, Environment Agency (1974, revised 1998)) which is equivalent to OECD 305. Cyprinus carpio was exposed to two concentrations of the test substance (0.4 and 0.04 mg/L). The test concentrations were selected based on a preliminary acute toxicity test with Oryzias latipes (LC50 (96 h) > 500 mg/L). During 60-d exposure the test concentrations were measured regularly in the test water and in fish to determine the BCF. The measured concentrations were maintained on a constant level throughout the test (flow-through exposure). A lipid content of 2.19% at start of exposure and 2.13% at the end of exposure was recorded. Since the BCF values were the highest on day 6 (first sampling day) it was assumed that steady-state was reached until day 28. The final BCF values were 15 (0.4 mg/L) and 36 (0.04 mg/L) on day 60 given as average from two measurements.
