Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The substance is a complex combination of compounds. Its measured boiing range is from 36 to over 750°C at atmospheric pressure, noting that decomposition of hydrocarbons is expected at temperatures over 370°C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
- 36
Additional information
The key value used in safety assessment is the measured initial boiling point (IBP) which is used to determine the classification for flammability. Due to the variability in composition of this substance and nearness of the measured IBP to the classification threshold of 35°C, the flammability classification should be assessed for each grade of the substance produced. Where the IBP of a grade can vary either side of the threshold the worst case classification is appropriate.
The substance also contains components that, if heated at atmospheric pressure, decompose at temperatures over around 370°C rather than boil. The simulated distillation (SIMDIS) technique uses vacuum distillation to achieve boiling at lower temperatures, and corrects the measured temperatures back to atmospheric pressure equivalents that can be over 370°C. The heaviest components of the substance, shown as having equivalent boiling points over 720°C but unmeasurable, are extremely high molecular weight hydrocarbons that are essentially non-volatile.
Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number.
