Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Immediately remove to fresh air. Consult a physician if
irritating symptoms develop and persist.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes thoroughly with running water (approximately 15
minutes) and consult a physician if any symptoms persist.
Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse skin immediately with copious amounts of water.
Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Consult a
physician if any symptoms develop.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Only as long as the patient is fully conscious: wash mouth
and have the victim drink copious amounts of water (often
vomiting will be induced). Consult a physician if feeling
sick and show the label.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Extinguishing media, suitable:
all.
Special advice in case of fire:
Cool container and metallic parts with a water spray jet
Product arising from burning: Hazardous products of combustion:
carbon oxides, hydrogen fluoride, nitrogen oxides
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing, including protective gloves
and boots. For respiratory protection, wear an approved
self contained breathing apparatus.
Full face mask to EN 136
Combination particle and gas filter to EN 142/143
Air hood to EN 270/467
Safety boots to provide protection against chemical, oil:
steel, toecap, antistatic EN345
Tyvek suit to EN 340/93 (chemical, electrostatic, particle)
Safety gloves EN374-2, 374-3, 388
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing, including protective gloves and
boots.
Full face mask to EN 136
Combination particle and gas filter to EN 142/143
Air hood to EN 270/467
Safety boots to provide protection against chemical, oil:
steel, toecap, antistatic EN345
Tyvek suit to EN 340/93 (chemical, electrostatic, particle)
Safety gloves EN374-2, 374-3, 388
After spillage, leakage, gas leakage, large amounts:
Must not be released into sewers, drains or wells.
Take up by mechanical means and dispose.
After spillage, leakage, gas leakage, small amounts:
Wash away remnants with plenty of water and detergents.
Cleaning of equipment:
Wash with plenty of water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid formation of dust. Keep away from sources of ignition.
Observe the usual precautionary measures required for
chemicals with dust explosive properties (Observe national
regulations).
Wear appropriate PPE.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not specified.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not specified.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Subsequent to reaction completion the residual Diolat is
extracted by solvent and then pumped to a dedicated enclosed
tank. This mother liquor is distilled to recover most of
the solvent and the remaining liquid residue is pumped to a
licensed on site liquid phase incinerator for destruction.
Any PPE or combustible packaging associated with the Diolat
is incinerated in a licensed on site solid waste
incinerator. The metal drums are washed, inspected and
crushed in a drum crusher. These are then disposed for steel
recovery.
During the charging operation / dispensing operations
spillages are unlikely. Should a spillage occur the
operators are instructed to collect the spilled material and
dispose in a waste container for incineration. The area is
then washed down.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not specified.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: No concern.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: No concern.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: No concern.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: No concern.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: No concern.
