Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation:
- Following inhalation: Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a comfortable position for breathing. Call a poison centre/doctor if you feel unwell.
- Following skin contact: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Call a poison centre/doctor if you feel unwell. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
- Following eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
- Following ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Call a poison centre/doctor if you feel unwell.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Larger fires: Alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or water fog.
Small fires: Alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder. Dry sand.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do not use water jet as this will spread the fire.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Thermal decomposition or combustion products may include the following substances: Irritating gases or vapours. Corrosive gases or vapours. Toxic gases or vapours. Containers can burst violently or explode when heated, due to excessive pressure build-up. Do not allow water to enter the container.
- Advice for fire fighter: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear fire resistant or flame retardant clothing. Wear chemical protective suit.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions: Evacuate area. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel away from the spillage. Keep upwind. Wear protective clothing. Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes. Vapours may accumulate on the floor and in low-lying areas. Ventilate closed spaces before entering them.
- Environmental precautions: Avoid the spillage or runoff entering drains, sewers or watercourses. Avoid release to the environment.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Earth container and transfer equipment to eliminate sparks from static electricity. Stop leak if safe to do so. Ground/bound container and receiving equipment.
Small spillages: Contain and absorb spillage with sand, earth or other non-combustible material. Vacuum or sweep up material and place in a disposal container. Use non-sparking tools. Use explosion-proof electrical equipment. Cover powered spills with plastic sheet or tarpaulin to minimise spreading and protect from water. Do not close container tightly, due to the risk of excessive pressure build-up.
Spillage into watercourses: Remove from water surface by skimming or with suitable absorbents. Do not use dispersants.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
Wear protection clothing. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Good general ventilation should be adequate to control worker exposure to airborne contaminants. Earth container and transfer equipment to eliminate sparks from static electricity. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Avoid swallowing.
Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in tightly-closed, original containers in dry, cool and well-ventilated area. Storage tanks and other containers must be earthed. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Store away from the following materials: Oxidising agents.

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures: Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
2. Organisational protection measures: Provide adequate ventilation. Good general ventilation should be adequate to control worker exposure to airborne contaminants. Provide eyewash station and safety shower. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Clean equipment and work area every day.
3. Hand protection: Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn. To protect hands, gloves should comply with EU standard EN374. Check during use that the gloves are retaining their protective properties and change them as soon as any deterioration is detected. Frequent changes are recommended.
4. Feet protection: Appropriate footwear complying with an approved standard should be worn.
5. Body protection Additional protection clothing complying with an approved standard should be worn if a risk assessment indicates skin contamination is possible.
6. Eye protection: Eyewear complying with an approved standard should be worn. Eye and face protection should comply with EU standard EN166. The following protection should be worn: Chemical splash goggles.
7. Respiratory protection: Respiratory protection complying with an approved standard should be worn if a risk assessment indicates inhalation of contaminants is possible.
Stability and reactivity
1. Reactivity: There are no known reactivity hazards.
2. Chemical stability: Stable at normal ambient temperatures and when used as recomended.
3. Possibility of hazardous reactions: There are no known reactivity hazards.
4. Conditions to avoid: Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Avoid exposure to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
5. Incompatible materials: Strong oxidising agents. Strong acids. Strong alkalis.
6. Hazardous decomposition products: Thermal decomposition or combustion products may include the following substances: Toxic gases or vapors. Corrosive gases or vapours. Irritating gases or vapours.
Disposal considerations
Dispose of waste to licensed waste disposal site in accordance with the requirements of the local waste dispose authority.
